2nd trip to edinburg

September 4th, 2007

My sem 6 holiday just started and to celebrate this me and my housemate planned a trip to Edinburg. The visit was what i awaited so much as my previous visit was very exciting and fun, furthermore this time there will be some fireworks event. Thanks to Anson , we managed to book a hostel and whats amazing is,its located just beside the Edinburg castle. The first day we decided to travel around Edinburg.Although i went to the same place as i went for my first visit,it never bored me.The view is just amazing and spectacular  and moreover it was quite  enjoyable to walk with my housemates. We really have a great time.On our way we do met some of our friends. We finally reached holyrood(not hollywood) park. The park actually   quite a big hill that we can climb over.Last time ,i miss the chance to explore this hill so i really hope to climb this time. The view above the hill was amazing and it is much higher than  Calton hill and Edinburg’s Castle. We really have some fun time up there doing different pose especially the ‘Starfish Jump’[Ron if you're reading this you should know what I mean :)].

We then walk back home and on our way we explore to ‘unknown’ place accidentaly. Here, i find something that i can’t believe ,a field that is so large that i think a baseball stadium can fit.If only Malaysia have such a field.

Anyway we managed to reach our hostel and prepared for the main event which are the fireworks.Around 8.30 pm,we reach at the Princes street and we can see such an amazing crowd. Although, the fireworks is launched at the castle which is quite far from where we were, the blossom of the fireworks really amazed me.

The next day ,me and my housemates separate into two groups ,one went to take a trip around Edinburg and the others went to the zoo. Since I never been to Edinburg’s zoo, thus i decided to go there. So me, Anson and Shu Ning finally reached to the zoo after taking 1- pound bus.

The famous thing that i know about this zoo ,is the marching penguins. Here, i saw a lot of animals that’s impossible to see in  Malaysian zoo. Moreover, the zoo is quite big and it was quite fascinating that they really make the animal’s habitat as similar as the real one’s.One of them is the red panda. At first it was quite dissappointment since the animal slept on the top of the tall tree but luckily for us the panda actually walk down and believe me it’s face look quite cute.

Other than the panda i also saw  jaguar, leopard, lemurs, stoke, polar bear, different type of monkeys and not to forget the penguins and much more.

One thing I learn is that the 2 tonne rhino actually have a very sensitive feets (I was wondering what will happen if its leg is being tickled).Without realizing we spend more than 3 hours in the zoo. After the  zoo, we went to to Calton hill and the Edinburg’s park.As they say all good things must come to end ,and its finally time to say goodbye. As the train goes, I was wondering will i be able to come to this place again?Anyways, the great time i spend here will surely be a lifetime moments that i won’t forget.
